James started working as a glazier in the early nineties with his father, Brian, at A&B Glassworks, however, he left in 1997 to study at Leeds University. In the 2000’s James worked in construction; building swimming pools in the UK before working in Dubai and Qatar. First as a glass finishing foreman on the Palm Jumeirah and then working on stadia condition surveys for the Qatari Olympic Committee.
James returned to London in 2008 and worked in facilities management at The Old Bailey until he was promoted to Head of Security in 2010, a position he stayed in until 2019.
In his spare time, he enjoys watching sport, visiting art galleries with his partner, cooking and gardening.
Matt joined us from a highly regarded, design glass company based in south London where he had worked for ten years. As such he has a wealth of experience in all surveys and fitting of made to measure, personalised glass design from mirrors to splashbacks, balustrades and balconies to shower screens and canopies.
Matt can advise you, your designer or architect on how to make your bespoke glass designs into a practical reality, from design to final delivery he will assist you every step of the way.
In his spare time, Matt enjoys spending time with his two teenage sons and playing Sunday league football.
Kate is the resident framer at A&B Glass working under the banner of Happy Framing, she is trained in conservation methods that best preserve and protect your artwork.
She has a background in scenic painting and restoration and her most recent projects include The Great on Channel 4 and Steve McQueen’s BBC Small Axe series. In her spare time, Kate enjoys visiting galleries and walking her Bedlington Terrier puppy, Basil.
Harriet helps out at the shop on a part-time basis currently, her full-time position is as a Production Manager in television.
Her recent projects have included TOWIE, Big Brother and When Bob Marley Came to Britain. Before television, Harriet worked in music for record labels representing bands such as Oasis and JJ72. In her spare time, Harriet enjoys live music, art and urban city walking.
Originally from the picturesque town of Arundel in West Sussex Simon was a chef at a number of Michelin starred restaurants before tiring of the long anti-social hours. He then retrained as a nursery gardener before finding himself working as a carpenter and now a glazier.
In his spare time he enjoys playing golf, (stressfree) cooking and following Arsenal. With his various work experiences, he is a handyman to know for cooking, gardening, carpentry and glazing advice.
