Units fitted to new work
If you have found yourself endlessly trying to clean a smeared window or wondering why there is a build-up of moisture in between your double-glazed units you may have ‘blown’ units.
As with most factory-made goods, double glazed units have a limited lifespan before they will need replacing. They are filled with gas, however, over time the aluminium spacer bar in between the two panes of glass will eventually break down allowing the gas to escape and air in. This means your units will be ‘blown’ as it is known in the industry.
Your units will then begin to look misted by condensation and left you will eventually end up with a window that you are unable to see through. We can help at A&B Glassworks by coming to your property, measuring the size and depth of your blown units and replacing them with new units.
With many of you now working from home spending your days trying to stare through a foggy window is frustrating and will annoy you soon enough.
Double glazed units are not uniform in their depth which is why we use a glass gauge to correctly measure the depth of the glass and the cavity in between.
Whether your units are in UPVC surrounds, wooden beaded frames or putty fronted sashes we are able to complete the job with best practice whatever type of windows you have.
Lead times on unit installation is ordinarily five to ten days so pick up the phone and restore the view to your room now.
